Relocation of supply to block of flats

The Freeholder of a block of flats in Dagenham has plans to build an extension to add another 20 flats to the building. This required moving the incoming supply so that the foundations could be dug.

Challenge:

Having received instructions from UK Power Networks for the new location of the incoming supply a new route, along with all the racking support and correct cable needed to be assessed and approved, taking into account the feasibility of the cable run and space available.

Approach:

All support racking, cable and isolation points were fitted in place prior to UK Power Networks attending the switch over.

All tenants of the existing flats were notified in good time that the power would be shut off for the duration of the switchover.
